Door County sits within a few miles of 45° north latitude — the same band that wraps around the globe through several of the world's better-known growing regions. We didn't pick the name to sound clever. We picked it because it's true, and because it's the reason a lake-cooled peninsula in Wisconsin can grow great products.

Lake Michigan moderates the swings: it holds back frost in spring and slows the heat in fall, stretching the season just enough for things that would struggle a hundred miles inland.
